CUET UG 2026 Eligibility Criteria
All the candidates read this eligibility criteria and then those who fulfill the eligibility, now you can apply for this post.
- Candidates who have passed Class 12 / equivalent OR are appearing in 2026 can apply.
- Accepted qualifying examinations include:
- 10+2 from any recognised Central/State Board (CBSE, CISCE, etc.).
- Intermediate/Pre-University exam from recognised Board/University.
- Class 12 from NIOS with minimum five subjects.
- 3‑year diploma recognised by AICTE or State Technical Board.
- GCE (A-Level), IB Diploma, and other exams recognised as equivalent to 10+2 by UGC/AIU, etc
Documents Required
The following documents are required to apply. All candidates should gather these documents before applying.
- Recent colour passport size photograph (80% face visible, no mask, light background), JPG/JPEG, 10–200 kb.
- Signature in running hand, JPG/JPEG, 10–50 kb.
- Disability / UDID certificate (for PwD/PwBD candidates), PDF, 50–300 kb.
- Identity proof (if verifying identity via methods other than Aadhaar/DigiLocker), JPG/JPEG, 10–200 kb.
- Valid mobile number and email ID (for all communication by NTA).
- Additional documents may be needed later during admission/counselling by universities (Class 10 & 12 marksheets, category certificates, income certificate for EWS/OBC-NCL, etc.), which are not uploaded to NTA but are checked by universities.
Selection Process
The selection process for CUET UG 2026 will include:
- Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT).
- Medium: 13 languages – English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu.
- Total subjects: 37 (13 Languages + 23 Domain subjects + 1 General Aptitude Test).
- Subject choice: Up to 5 subjects including language(s), domain subjects and General Aptitude Test, irrespective of Class 12 subjects, but must match university eligibility.
- Questions per test paper: 50 MCQs; all questions compulsory.
- Duration: 60 minutes per test paper (extra compensatory time for eligible PwD/PwBD candidates).
